Aline Asmar D'Amman
Born in Lebanon and now living in Paris, Aline Asmar d'Amman is an architect and founder of Culture in Architecture. Approaching each project with evocative narrative power, Aline Asmar d'Amman draws on an architectural vocabulary built on raw and precious elements, heritage and modernity, poetry and materiality.
Aline Asmar d'Amman has completed several iconic interior design projects around the world, including the renovation of the HĂ´tel Crillon in Paris, the decor of the Le Jules Verne restaurant, a gourmet destination in the Eiffel Tower, and the ongoing transformation of the Palazzo Dona Giovannelli, a historic jewel of the City of the Doges, into the future Orient Express hotel. She is currently working on the delicate renovation of Villa Belinzaghi, located in the heart of the Villa d'Este park, the jewel in the crown of luxury hotels on Lake Como.
Aline Asmar d'Amman has also collaborated with the great designer Karl Lagerfeld on his designs for the Hôtel de Crillon and on his collection of functional sculptures, “Architectures,” for the Carpenters Workshop Gallery.
In 2022, she designed the architectural scenography for the Lebanese Pavilion at the Venice Art Biennale and launched her eponymous furniture collection, which is regularly enriched with distinctive pieces created with exceptional craftsmen.
In 2023, she chaired the jury of the Design Parade Toulon at the Villa Noailles and created an exhibition celebrating the crafts and culture as an essential framework.
In 2024, the architect was invited by Le19M, CHANEL’s center for arts and fashion craftsmanship, to design the Petit Salon, a refined private reception space celebrating the extraordinary expertise of the resident artisan houses at its Paris headquarters.
Aline Asmar d’Amman continues a multidisciplinary practice, ranging from the interior architecture of hotels and private projects to art direction and scenography around the world, with a contemporary approach deeply committed to the transmission of knowledge and collaboration with master artisans.
